Evaluation and staff meeting coming up, but I want to resign?

I am planning on submitting my resignatin on Mon, but today (Fri) my boss gave us questionnaire forms to fill out for an upcoming staff meeting. (This is the second meeting we have ever had)

She wants us to be honest, but I don't know if that is a good idea. Should I write on the questionnaire how disappointed I am here and that I am resigning? Or leave it seperate from the resignation all together?

She is asking what do we like, and dislike about our jobs, what would we change, do we need to discuss anything in private with her, etc.

HELP

Evaluation and staff meeting coming up, but I want to resign?
Fill in the form and attach the resignation letter with it one will explain the other GOOD LUCK
Reply:I'd suggest you save the comments and complaints for your exit interview with HR.
Reply:On your evaluation, it is CRITICAL you talk about what a wonderfully well-run company it is, and (honestly) stress the actual good stuff.

This employer will be writing at least one of the references you need for your next job (or the one after that)...

Never burn your bridges. Though it sometimes feels good, it has a way of coming back to bite you! (Sorry for the mixed metaphor!)

Good luck!
Reply:IF there is ANYTHING (legal) your boss could change at the office that might make you want stay, i would put that info on the form.

but if you believe nothing can possibly change or improve there, i would be kind of non-committal on the form, until you have announced your plan to leave, and i hope, have already got a commitment to hire you from another company. then i would give her some honest, constructive, but not hostile information about the problems that lead to your leaving..
Reply:If you are going to resign then why not be honest but not too honest where it could affect you. Do not say that you are disappointed. You can always make suggestions and can always talk to your boss in private. Never make your boss look bad however much you dislike him or her. Leave your resignation seperate. That is another issue.
Reply:Only write down positive information then when you hand in your resignation you can vent to her. Most companies have an exit interview when employees resign, you could explain how disppointed you are then.
Reply:Anyway you can not turn it in until Monday?

Otherwise, just be honest on the form, take it to her, and tell her the truth. Just let her know you were going to have your resignation in on Monday, but you don't want to be dishonest on this form. It's important she knows how you feel.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for sending us the scanned copy of the letter. Btw, in the letter it is stated that an annotated agenda was enclosed to the letter, but I can find none, only the questionnaire.

Could you please send us the aforementioned agenda?

And if it is possible, could you please send me the softcopy template of the questionnaire? Thanks

Could you please check if there are grammatical errors in these sentences?
A lil

This is better:

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for sending us the scanned copy of the letter. By the way, in the letter it is stated that an annotated agenda was enclosed to the letter. It seems that I can not find it. I only see the questionnaire.

Could you please send us the aforementioned agenda?

And if it is possible, may you please send me the soft copy template of the questionnaire?

Thanks

You also have some spelling mistakes that you need to look into that I've fixed.
Reply:If this is supposed to be a business letter, it not only has bad grammar, but is structured too informally.

Try this more formal structure and wording:

Dear Sir:

We have received the scanned copy of the letter. Thank you for sending it so promptly.

Unfortunately, the annotated agenda referenced in that letter was not included. Instead, we received a questionnaire.

Please forward the referenced agenda to us, along with the softcopy template of the questionnaire.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Reply:Dear Sir,

Could you please send us the aforementioned agenda and, if possible, a softcopy template of the questionnaire?

Thanks.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for sending us the scanned copy of the letter. However, in the letter it says that there is an annotated annotated agenda attached, but I only see the questionarre. Could you please send that agenda?

Also, if possible, could you please send me the soft copy template of the questionnaire?

Use a colon instead of comma after "Sir"; substitute

"Incidentally," for "Btw,"; insert a blank line after

"questionnaire."; substitute Thank you." for "Thanks";

add a closing (like "Sincerely,").

How to use radial / response option buttons to create a form that produces numerical data as output?

I would like to create a questionnaire form using some major software (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc) which will allow a person to click on certain answers using buttons.

For example:

I am a: o Male o Female

Politically, I am: o Liberal o Moderate o Conservative

I know how to create such buttons, but what I *really* want is to be able to have the software export numerical data so that, in my example variables called "gender" gets a 1 or 2 and "political" gets a 1, 2, or 3.... and this is in some kind of table or ASCII file that can be imported into a spreadsheet.

This is not for use as a webpage, but as a stand alone document.

anyone have any suggestions?

How to use radial / response option buttons to create a form that produces numerical data as output?
In Excel you should be able to create Macros which are commands to record and move data in a presentation one wants them. I work with them but I've never written one myself - I use Excel to tabulate data I read off of a Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and create graphs. I have a web site stored in my favorites that can help you to create macros if you don't already know how to do so; if you are interested let me know and I'll copy it to MS Word since the link I had put here doesn't seem to work..
Reply:u dont need some kind of 3rd party program what you need is to come up with a formula on excel to recognize the entries that were is selected. u can click the help option on the excel program for the details.. dont recall exactly how but its just a string of command...

hope this helps

Do you think the media gives teenagers a negative image?

Please give as much information as you can as i am using this as a questionnaire in my school coursework.

Do you think the media gives teenagers a negative image?
Teenagers give themselves a negative image...and so do adults, and drunk drivers and child-molesting clergy and anyone else who allows the world to witness the "worst we have to offer".

Two things to think about here:

In journalism it is often said, "Dog bites man" isn't a worthwhile story. However, "Man bites dog" IS a worthwhile story.

Why?

Newspapers and TV shows and internet sites almost always make their money from advertising.

Advertisers will only pay for ad space when the particular medium (papers, magazines, TV, Radio, etc) can show that people are viewing the advertising.

Add to this, a "free press" really isn't free.

If the newspaper doesn't make a profit, it goes out of business.

So, over the years the media have always been more likely to report something negative than they are likely to report something positive.

Last, there is an old saying that it takes a lot of "atta boys!" to make up for one "Aw Sh*t!"

So, the public is to blame equally, because they form opinions based on sound bites and a two paragraph story with ten photos on the internet.

I hope your report turns out well.
Reply:teenagers give themselves a neg. image
Reply:Teenagers give themselves a negative image by their incessant bad behavior. Not all teens of course, but far too many. There are teens who think it's amusing to set fire to homeless people and watch them writhe in agony; when the teens who did this to one man went to court the parents were outraged and said "Boys will be boys" which I personally find appalling. The parents do contribute much of this bad behavior by never making the teens be accountable or responsible for their own actions and consequently many are growing up as perfect socio-psychopaths.

How do psychologists (or other mental health professionals) figure out if you have depression?

I'm doing a project and I need to answer this question... I'm pretty sure that they have a questionnaire/survey, but I can't seem to find if there's a specific name to it... Or if there are any other ways?

[yes, I have been searching and trying to find out on my own, for about a week.]

How do psychologists (or other mental health professionals) figure out if you have depression?
For psychologists at least, you are not very likely to find a questionare type of list, because the way depression presents in each individual is different (it varies by culture, gender, age, etc.). Usually a diagnosis takes quite a few sessions, a lot of questioning about behaviors and life in general, and a quick referral to the DSM IV TR. That's what you should look at. The DSM (4th revised edition) has a "check list", so to speak, that describes the requirements for a diagnosis of some form of depression, whether it's just dysthymia or a major depressive disorder. Do NOT look at Bipolar stuff, because that is a mood disorder and is in a different category all together.
Reply:Psychologists (and psychiatrists) can screen for mental illness, and diagnose. (Psychologists can now write prescriptions for drugs now in certain states, don't need to go to a psychiatrist for that anymore!) They use the DSM IV...Diagnostic and Statistical Manual to categorize the symptoms....they will diagnose using the psychological interview, perhaps some standardized tests...series of questions...and put that together to come up with a diagnosis. There are MANY tests available to diagnose mental illness, not just one. (Ph.D. psychologist)
Reply:Look into some books on Bipolar disorder. They have questionaire ideas in them.
Reply:The only way to determine if someone has depression is for the psychiatrist to do a screening. Basically, the psychiatrist asks the patient a number of questions, and based on the response that the patient gives, the psychiatrist can determine if he/she has depression. Keep in mind that a psychiatrist, not a psychologist, is qualified to diagnose someone with depression.
Reply:some say education and training but realistically %26amp; unfortuniatly it is often there own issues that bring them into this industry so it takes one to know one

What are the advantages and disadvantages of digital compared to analogue studio recording technology?

I am a University student and I am doing my dissertation on analogue and digital studio recording technology. If there is anybody relevant with this subject with experience I would really appreciate to email me so I can email back a questionnaire regarding my dissertation. Thank you all

What are the advantages and disadvantages of digital compared to analogue studio recording technology?
analog has a warmer, more realistic feeling, it is however very expensive for anything even half decent. also, editing is destructive, there is no "undo" button. it is also a lot harder to use

digital may not have the same realistic feel to it, but by adding a single analog piece (the favorite is a tube compressor) you can gain that warmth back. digital is much better pound-for-pound, and any editing is non-destructive, and if it can be, you wil be asked numerous times if you want to make this change by your computer.

everything goes to digital eventually anymore, cds and mp3s being the most common playback methods for music anymore
Reply:Analog presents a nice warm feeling as compared to the digital recordings. I've done both analog and digital (I do digital now). With analog it was much more difficult to put recordings together due to a lot of limitations with the # of available tracks -- I only had 8 available. With digital going thru a computer, it's essentially limitless. The sound from a digital recording is a bit 'sterile' and needs effects to liven up the sound.

Reply:If you cannot do even " 2 questionnaires for any survey question", then it is time for you to go to your teacher and ask for help.

You have clearly stated that you cannot do it and copying someone else's work could lead you to be charged with plagerising which you will be doing if you just copy Answers supplied through pity. I would not be surprised that you could be given a "Fail" straight out even if your copied answers are perfect.

If you enter "Distinction" on your resume on copied results , you are cheating, just the same as if you cheated in an exam. Sorry to be so blunt but as a teacher, I feel I am being kind in warning yoiu.

There you go the sreening test is below. Please give me my 10 pts. lol
Reply:thats easy as i have studied psychology and yes there is a sort of questionnaire in reagards to mental health but what they do first is

1) ask how you are who you are and your intentions in life (this is to try and create a bond between them and the client)

2) while you are speaking to them they are observing your body language i.e. your posture also sometimes it is known for people to scracth there arms hard or nip the back of the hands evening thou they dont relize they are doing it

3) then they will start asking you your opinion in life what triggers you to feel down and what triggers you to feel positive

4) once they have built the "assesment" on you the then want to know when you feel negitive what do you think/do weather its you fell like life would be better without you, self harming or taking aggression out on things/people

if you want more info then do not hestitate to email me

Reply:There is a questionnaire health professionals use to determine levels of depression. Usually there are fair indicators but depression can come in many guises and strenghts so it is also important to determine the seriousness and the kind of depression. Look up mental health charities on the web, they will inform you about depression and let you know what they are and what methods are used to treat and diagnose it.
Reply:They will ask you about whether you have certain symptoms, how long you have had them, etc.

Take a look here for the criteria: http://www.mental-health-today.com/dep/d...

They will also probably ask you to fill out a questionnaire called a depression inventory. The Beck Depression Inventory, developed by the famous cognitive psychologist, Aaron T. Beck. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_depre... for more.
Reply:They use the DSM-IV or Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition, written %26amp; published by the American Psychiatric Association.

You can google DSM-IV or DSM-IV TR and find lots of info on it. Just avoid Wikipedia because their info isn't always accurate.

Here's a good (and accurate) link I found that can help you:

http://www.falseallegations.com/dsm-dprj...

Just be certain to cite the DSM-IV as a reference for your work.
Reply:Becks depression inventory is the main one. Though some have questioned its validity. Most professional use counselling skills as well, and experience plays a large part in working out what people are really saying / feeling as oppossed to what they appear to be.
Reply:They can give you a survey. At the end of the test they will add up the numbers, then compare them to a answer key that they have. IDK what the name of the test is, sry. Maybe you could call a phychologists office from the phone book?
Reply:They look in a book called the DSM-IV, as well as other thing.

Research that. It'll help.
Reply:Here's a very easy question to ask that will tell you what you need to know.

Do you feel helpless and hopeless?

If so, that's depression.

Does using a Questionnaire mean its a positivist study?

Using a Postal Questionnairre as the research method - how do i write up the methodology is this classedas positivist quantative?.

Does using a Questionnaire mean its a positivist study?
I suggest you look up sociological/criminological theories or whatever you're studying and then work it out and compare them to your work.

Look up the the more classical theorists as they are more likely to use a positivist approach since that way is more of a science, studying the statistics and the data given to you, whereas the more recent theories are looking beyond that.

It depends on the questionnaire you're doing to, is it closed or open ended questiones? what you got to remember also is reliability and the validity of your questionnaires if you get them back.
Reply:You what?
Reply:It depends on the style of question actually used in the questionnaire. get your text books and and do some reading and stop taking the easy way out.

UK Limitations Act 1980 and County Court Allocation Questionnaire enquiries?

Hi

1. Re the below, what if the creditor has written to the debtor but the debtor has paid nothing nor contacted the creditor for more than six years? Do the provisions of the act still apply?

"Limitations Act 1980 outlines the time limit within which a creditor can chase a debtor for outstanding debts. The Limitations Act 1980 only applies when no contact has been made between the creditor and debtor within the given time limit and only applies to residents of England and Wales."

2. I have defended a claim on the above basis and been asked to fill in an allocation questionaire which is confusing. Any advice?

Many thanks

UK Limitations Act 1980 and County Court Allocation Questionnaire enquiries?
"what if the creditor has written to the debtor but the debtor has paid nothing nor contacted the creditor for more than six years"

You can't escape by ignoring the Creditor for 6 years .. the 6 years START when the Creditor stops trying to get his money back .. (of course if you NEVER RECEIVED any letters, that's a different matter ..)
Reply:When there is no contact whatsoever from the debtor for 6 years and one day it is known as Statutory Barred

This means that although the debt still stands and the creditor may still chase...there will be no enforcement through the courts

NB mortgages/property debts are 12 years...not 6

Reply:I don't get you my friend! You mean you want answers for a previous questionnaire to prepare for next exam? Are you a teacher trying to teach the correct answer if no student answered correctly? Or is it a survey like questionnaire where many who are supposed to answer didn't and you are embarassed to say so?Whom you want to convey? If it is about conventional academic studies text book clarifies it any way and if you have to tell somebody from any walk of life that they were wrong , telling it frankly won't hurt at all. If you want to find out answer for a difficult question it is a matter of application of a concept in the book. About 30 years back when guides ,net, coaching centres were not there we studied only texts and we still apply many facts from physics ,chemistry etc.,to day to day life! You don't need and frankly you shouldnot have a key,go back to the book !

I am looking for help filling in a Test Questionnaire with TNS Global?

I have noticed a job for a Mystery Shopper with TNS Global on the Internet, i have looked at the Test Questionnaire which runs on and on, my writting isnt great nor is my english, does anyone have a completed one i could have a look at so i could get a few pointers to help me out, your help would be great. Its asks questions like, who is suitable to be a mystery shopper and why companies want them. Ta Grant

I am looking for help filling in a Test Questionnaire with TNS Global?
Most Internet 'jobs' are simply scams designed to extract money from you. I hope you didn't fill in any details about your Bank Account ???

Other than ID Theft, the Mystery Shopper con-trick is typically a form of 419 Scam, Cheque Cashing Fraud ..

You are sent a cheque to cover your 'expenses' .. but the Cheque is for some value way over your costs...

You "cash" the cheque and are instructed to 'repay' the extra via some non-reversible means eg Western Union ..

Eventually (weeks or months later) the Cheque 'bounces' and your Bank takes the "cash" back out of your account ...

Needless to say, that's when you discover Western Union doesn't want to know ..
Reply:With respect, Grant, it'd be a complete waste of time.... assuming you were successful in getting through the application form, there'd be an interview, followed by the need to complete forms and reports as part of the job. Basically the application procedure is designed to see if you (not someone else) has the requisite skills for the job, and though you think you might have a better chance of the job with outside help, the results coule be embarrassing to you in the end....

Do most people prefer to use and own dishwarhsers?

Do all people use dishwashers or is washing up by hand still the way lots of people do the dishes?

It would be a great help if people could fill in my questionnaire and give there opionons on household daily tasks

http://www.my3q.com/home2/122/scary_fair...

Do most people prefer to use and own dishwarhsers?
We built a new house and included a dishwasher. Other than 2 months while I was waiting for a replacement pump it gets used almost daily. Only dishes too large to fit inside are done by hand.
Reply:prefer to do mine by hand.
Reply:I prefer to do it by hand. I then can see that the job has been done properly.
Reply:washing by hand is still the best. i do have a dish washer called the hubby
Reply:hell yea
Reply:I think most people prefer a dishwasher these days, I prefer to clean up after everymeal, and while I am cooking, just makes it easier. However , recently, my husband and I both had a nasty illness, and we kept passing it back and forth until we both took antibiotics, and I used the dishwasher to sterilize everything we touched. It seems to have done the trick, I think we are rid of that nasty staph infection now.
Reply:after waiting eons to get it - IF my beloved dishwasher broke down I would go totally bonkers. I really LURVE that little ol machine - no task is too tough for it - even my burnt pans come back all shiny shiny.

Its such a huge love of my life that I do not have a little bottle of fairy in the cupboard for those little odd washing up jbs as I do not feel the need to starve my beloved machine of just the one little coffe cup or spoon - I just pack it all in and opo the block in

- job done why do my friends recoil in horror when their offers to wash up thiose few cups are met with my smile and Nooo sorry

dont have any Fairy Liquid????????

A DISHWASHER IS A LIBERATING PIECE OF KITCHEN KIT

MY TIME CAN NOW BE SPENT MORE WISELY

IMPROVING MY MIND.... watching the Simpsons and sipping wine !
Reply:I prefer a dishwasher and think most people do.

Beyond it's ease...a dishwasher heats the water to extreme temperatures...far hotter than a person's hand could stand or far hotter than what would come out of your faucet...which sterilizes the dishes.
Reply:Personally, I prefer the dishwasher. There are occasions though that I still have to do some large baking casseroles by hand, and of course the stoneware. Overall, I would have to say the dishwasher is the way to go if I had a choice!
Reply:I use the dishwasher at least 90% of the time and only handwash larger items like casserole dishes etc or if the instructions say do not place in dishwasher. It is a great time saver and also probably works out cheaper if you have a lot of dishes etc to wash ideal for families wouldn't be without mine
Reply:I don't think that I could manage without one.
Reply:filled out your form, and no I do not have a dishwasher, I am weird I find washing up therapeutic.
Reply:Of course people prefer dishwashers, throw all the dirty crockery in, slam it shut, press the button and, hey presto, they're all clean. Anything beats standing at the sink wearing rubber gloves and scrubbing ground-in stains until your wrist breaks. I have better things to do with my time.
Reply:I've completed the online questionaire.

I do use my dishwasher and wouldn't be without one but still find sometimes I have to wash pans in the sink.
Reply:Dishwashers are the safest way to wash your dishes! Because of the heat. I use a dishwasher always to clean and sanitize my dishes, glasses and silverware.
Reply:I do both
Reply:I lived for 38 years never having owned a dishwasher. As a child, and the oldest of 5 kids, I can remember standing at the sink for hours doing dishes. I hate dishes!

Last year, I sacrificed cupboard space for my first dishwasher, borrowing the tone of Scarlett O'Hara, "I will never do dishes again".

Love my dishwasher, love it, love it. It now ranks in my life with high speed internet access, I can't go back and I won't!
Reply:dish washers carn't live without mine!
Reply:I still do it the old way by hand
Reply:Ok I've done the survey........think it may be a little ...well(against the rules) of this forum. took me probably a few seconds.....hey! no skin off my nose Luck!

GET THE DISHWASHER!!!!
Reply:DISHWASHING THEROPY:

A friend's dad was left alone in a country house, so the dad moved in with his son's family. He was moody at the start, until he did the dishes one evening.

Since then, he would see it as his role to wash the dishes after every meal.

The wife liked the assistance and offered to help her father-in-law one time. He insisted to continue by himself. When she grabbed a tea towel and wet plate, he explained ...

"When I lived in the country, all was quiet. This house is noisy with TV's, Nintendos, traffic outside ... but when I am doing the dishes, I have time to myself - so please let me do it alone !"
Reply:Dishwasher most assuredly. Had it both ways, will never go back!
Reply:no...manual labor is the bomb...is this a serious question?
Reply:I wanted a dishwasher for 15 years, hubby finally gave in 2years ago, I now use the dishwasher most every day, wouldn't be without it. I have filled in your survey.
Reply:I couldn't live without mine - washes the pots and pans with very hot water - you couldnt achieve this by hand. Stack the dishes, close the door and relax.
Reply:Whoever came up with the automatic dishwasher is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I HAVE ONLY JUST GOT A DISHWASHER, BUT WOULDNT BE WITHOUT IT NOW.
Reply:We are well off middleclass with large new home and a lakefront vacation home, but my wife never wanted a dishwasher. She never had one and never wanted one.

What can i investigate within the English language?

I have to investigate a topic within the English Language and collect data for it by questionnaire and interview. Does anyone have any ideas what topic i can research? ( It can be an topic on anything) e.g. accent + dialect, slang, jargon, occupational uses of language, child language development etc etc

Pleaseee help me xx

What can i investigate within the English language?
How about whether children's speech follows parents' or friends'?
Reply:What about words which only exist in certain areas of the UK? Such as in North East Scotland there is a dialect known as Doric where there is a word for "the pain you feel in a wound when it feels like your heart beating" - stoonin'. It would be interesting to find out what words are unique to different areas and why people use them instead of the normal english equivalent.
Reply:Does coming from a bi-lingual family advance or retard a childs knowledge of English?

or something about how text/email speak has affected the range of vocabulary?

Tricky one that.
Reply:I think you can explore the development of the current text language and its effects on the the users as well as others. There will be a lot of people who don't approve of it, and others who will not use anything but text language. You can argue that this really makes a mockery of the way correct spelling should be used coupled with the fact that today many 16 year-olds leave school with very limited literacy skills.
Reply:Do sociolinguistics, ie the study of how different people from different regions say different things. Ie) I'm from the South of England and i call a bread roll a "roll" some people say "bap" some say "cob" etc. There are some books i used at uni that'd be very helpful if u chose to do this topic! If u like that idea let me know and I'll find out what the books were for you.
Reply:there are many possibilities (and some good suggestions already)...one i could suggest would be colloquialisms and how many of them have made it into everyday language...a word / phrase has to become used frequently by joe public prior to it being entered into a dictionary...who would have thought back in the 70s that the word 'sick' would mean something positive for example?

or better still, cockney v. mockney...how many people claim to be true cockneys as opposed to the public school types that pretend (mockneys..) good luck! hope you find something...
Reply:Oh that first idea is good. Or how about the meaning behind sayings and their origin....mind you p's and q's, etc.
Reply:The history of punctuation is quite interesting, such things as commas, colons, semi colons etc have evolved over the years.

What I come across most often, as an English tutor, is how written language is changing; for example words such as 'you', 'what', 'would' are often seen as 'U', 'wat' and 'wud'. Should we rebel against these new, shortlened (text) words or embrace them?

Good luck with whatever you choose!

Reply:investigate cockney rhyming slang - who devised it? how did it come about? has use of it diminished/increased? if so, why?

What are the most challenging areas in looking after your pets?

Im looinh into various household activities including looking after pets and what challenges this presents

I have a questionnaire with a section on pets it would be a great help if anyone could fill this in if you are pet owners of have a knowledge of this :D

http://www.my3q.com/home2/122/scary_fair...

What are the most challenging areas in looking after your pets?
1. Cleaning up. The dog tracks debris into the house all the time. If we don't watch him, he sneaks onto the dining room table to steal food and makes a royal mess.

2. Noise. Every leaf that falls, bird that chirps, neighbor who coughs - all have to be barked-at. It's insane. 5am in the morning and he's out "yarwhooooooooooling" at the world.
Reply:Hi Meia...answered your survey. Doesn't look like too many people answered since there were only 8 females and 2 males.
Reply:My chihuahuas take off barking like crazy at the sound of my brother or his wife in the kitchen, which is next to my room. It's my brothers house! Yet everytime they go in or out my pup's become the national guard! Been here 3 mos. still they won't adjust!

I need help from someone who is working in Uk's bank, to fill out my questionnaire?

I am MSc student and urgently need your opinion about using Voice over IP or following traditional phone based system(landline) in bank telephone system.

I need help from someone who is working in Uk's bank, to fill out my questionnaire?
Why not physically go to a bank and ask, instead of having people like Me do Your homework?
Reply:Hi Tila,

I recently downloaded SKYPE, but I have to buy a headset to use VOiP (Voice Over internet Protocol) and, although my Skype account has been set up, I can't use it yet. In the meantime, you can message your bank using their online messaging service for which you should receive a reply after 2 to 3 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays). They may have the questionnaire as a PDF or RTF that you can fill in online or download and post it via snail mail.

Why don't auto dealerships send out questionnaires any more?

When I bought my first car back in 1968, the car company sent me a questionnaire a month later asking different questions as to my satisfaction. The next 2 cars I purchased, even from different automakers, also followed up with a questionnaire although the last one was more about my satisfaction with the dealership rather that the car. The last two times of car purchases, I never received a follow-up survey. It's like they just don't care anymore - we got your money, now you can go twist in the wind. I think customer opinion can help them design better cars. So why aren't car companies following up on customer satisfaction any longer?

Why don't auto dealerships send out questionnaires any more?
They don't care anymore. once they have your money and you have signed on the dotted line that's it. customer care doesn't exist anymore.
Reply:Some still do but each time that they do this they are taking a chance that the customer will respond negatively and this hurts the dealerships ratings with the manufacturer.

I personally think that is pretty crappy and if I have any issues with the dealership I just call the manufacturer and file a claim against the dealer and they have 30 days to reply or they will loose 1% overall and that will hurt them big time.

Have you ever slammed a professor on an end-of-the semester questionnaire/teaching evaluation?

I have done this now and then but sometimes wonder if I'm being overly harsh. Under what circumstances would you give a professor the lowest possible ratings?

Have you ever slammed a professor on an end-of-the semester questionnaire/teaching evaluation?
If the professor does a poor job then you should be honest on the evaluation. I have had some professors that are terrible and some that are great. Don't worry about overly harsh just be honest because they should improve their teaching skills.
Reply:I politely did it last semester for my college algebra teacher.

She never came prepared, it seemed like she didnt know the material.

Countless times she told us her masters classes or tests were more important than grading our papers/worrying about our class.

If she didnt care, she shouldnt have been teaching our class and just focused on her studies.

Prospective Athlete Forms/Questionnaires? Trying to play sports in college...?

I just finished my sophmore year in high school, and I'm really looking to run track (and possibly play soccer) in college. I know that most colleges' web sites have a form to fill out with your personal information, grades, and best performances.

I had an okay year time-wise in my events, but I plan on getting even faster next season, especially as my team is training to make the new england championships.

My question is... should I start filling these forms now, or wait another year? My times weren't amazing, especially for my event at a college level, but I was all-conference, and made it to the state championships. I also looked at some of these schools' web sites, and right now I could be competitive with some of their runners, just not their number one runner. I'm just afraid that next year (end of junior year), if and when my times improve, it will be too late to contact prospective coaches. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Prospective Athlete Forms/Questionnaires? Trying to play sports in college...?
I would fill them out now, and email the coach, let them know that you are getting better in your events.

Coaches like to see improvement. It shows them that you are coachable, and are willing to work to get better. You should get on their radar early! This will also show them that you really WANT to play in college.

Good Luck!!
Reply:i assure you the coaches have scouts at all the events and championships.....it might suprize you that they have a file on you if you were in the top 3 of any championships..........

Can someone help me out with setting up a statistical model for my analysis?

I'm helping a friend out with the stats portion of her thesis. She has have two continuous independent variables and one dependant variable. The variables are composite scores from a Likert scale questionnaire.

There are two class variables (age and education) which are dichotomous (above or below median).

She;s interested in determining the strength and direction of the relationship between the dep and indep variables. Also she'd like to know how this relationship is affected by whether a respondent is above or below the median age and level of education.

Which statistical analyis is appropriate here? She was instructed that MANOVA is appropriate. I'm unfamiliar with MANOVA and thought that the normal ANOVA analysis would suffice with a class statement (I'm using SAS). Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

Can someone help me out with setting up a statistical model for my analysis?
If it were just two independent and one dependent it would be classic ANOVA. MANOVA is traditionally used for multiple dependent variables. Imagine that you were ran the ANOVA for the entire sample, then run separate ANOVAs for each of the following: above age above edu, above age below edu, below age above edu, and below age below edu. In the separate runs the data would not be symmetrical (unless the age and edu distributions are completely homogenous) so comparing the relationships would be useless. The same applies to if you ran an ANOVA for above age all edu, because if age and edu were at all correlated, the mean edu would differ from the full sample and you couldn't compare the two. In SAS there are corrections for skewed data which you could feasibly use. MANOVA is probably an option too, if you use some sort of repeated measures MANOVA (where one set of independents measures the dependent variable is the other set is age and edu (dichotomous) and they measure the dependent variables of the relationships of the first study) .
Reply:Assuming that a simple model is being used (linear, logistic regression, etc.), you might examine the coefficients assigned to each independent variable, and do the same for models built on just cases below the median age, and another built on just cases above the median age.

Can you give suggestions on my sales letter?

Please help me write a direct sales letter for my new business writing homestudies for attorneys whose clients plan to adopt or obtain guardianship of children. Tell me what I should change, take out or add. Thanks!

Dear Mr. Smith:

Have you ever needed a comprehensive and well-written homestudy on one of your cases and didn’t know who you should call? I’m a local Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work. I have experience as an investigator and foster care worker for DCFS and as a counselor for XYZ Counseling Services.

What do my homestudy services include?

•Extensive Questionnaire

•Visit to the Home

•Criminal Records Check

•Reference Check

•Detailed Report

•Testimony in court

Call me today at (877) 123-4567 so we can further discuss my homestudy services. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

P.S. Mention this letter and receive 20% off your first homestudy!

Can you give suggestions on my sales letter?
When you say "I have experience as an investigator..." it highlights your omission of your homestudy experience (which of course is nil). Take out that line and you look stronger. I'd take out the line above it too ("I'm a local..."). You can tell them that AFTER they call you.

Your P.S. statement means nothing to me since I don't know what the base price is. 20% off of what? If I don't know, then I don't care.

Are you selling your speed, quality, or price? Decide and hit that point hard. Good Luck!

What are some fun questions to ask kids about kids?

I'm trying to come up with a questionnaire, getting stuck on what questions to ask them. I am trying to come up with about 20.

What are some fun questions to ask kids about kids?
ask kids about kids? (what ages? that would help)

*Who is your best friend? (and why)

*Do you think girls/boys have cooties?

*Do you have a boy/girlfriend? (my kids give the cutest answers to these)

*What do you think about your brother/sister?

*Which friend so you think has the neatest toys?

*Do you want a brother/sister?

*Who is your meanest friend?

*Do any of your friends tell you secrets? (what secrets?)

*Which one of your friends has the most money? (my 6yr old son gives me a daily tally of who had/didnt have snack money and who had the most)

*Which friend do you think you would marry?

*Who is your meanest friend?

*Who is your prettiest friend?

... I can come up with lots, but it would help to know why/how old .. hope I was helpful. ( i tend to think in terms of my kids ages!)

Can you help me with these Algebra 2 word problems?

I really need help with these word problems? Can you tell me step by step on how to do it and give me the correct answer? Thanks so much!

Solve each problem by writing an inequality.

1. Xul is two years older than his sister Maria. The sum of their ages is greater than 32. Describe Maria's age.

2. A research team estimates that 30% of their questionnaires will not be returned. How many questionnaires should they mail out in order to be reasonably certain that at least 750 will be returned?

Solve each problem by writing a compound inequality.

1. Watermelons cost $.39 per pound at a local market. Kent's watermelon cost between $4.00 and $5.00. What are the possible weights of his watermelon?

Please help me with these!!!!

Thanks sooo much!! :)

Can you help me with these Algebra 2 word problems?
1. Let m = maria's age

m + 2 = xul's age

m + m + 2 %26gt; 32

2m + 2 %26gt; 32

2m %26gt; 30

m %26gt; 15

Maria must be older than 15 years.

2. 70% of what number is 750

.7 x = 750

x = 1072 questionnaires

3. $4 %26lt; .39x %26lt; $5, where x = the number of pounds

4/.39 %26lt; x %26lt; 5/.39

10.3 %26lt; x %26lt; 12.8
Reply:1.

their ages add up to be 32 and xul is 2 years older so make that 30. divide that in half to find his sisters height because shes half of 32 minus 2.

2.

find 30% of 750. then add that to 750 (750*.3=225)

750+225= 975

3.

x*.39 (39 cents) = 4.00

x*.39=5.00

divide both sides by .39 to get x alone

x*.39=4.00 x=10.25641026 ~ 10.3 pounds

x*.39=5.00 x=12.82051282 ~ 12.8 pounds

Watermellons are between 10.3 and 12.8 pounds
Reply:1) let Xul's age be 'x', Maria's age 'y'

y+(y+2)%26gt;32

2y+2%26gt;32

2y%26gt;30

y%26gt;15

meaning Maria's age must be greater that 15

2) solve this by cross multiplication

if 30% wont be returned, then 70% will be. so 70% of all ?s to be mailed out is 750.

if x=100%

then 750=70%

at least 1071 questionnaires should be mailed out

3) between 4/.39 and 5/.39

so that's betw 10.3 and 13
Reply:no1. is 32-2 =30

no3 i would say 3lbs
Reply:1) Xul's age is 2 more than Maria's age (X=M+2) and the sum is greater than 32(X+M%26gt;32), so twice Maria's age plus 2 is more than 32(2M+2%26gt;32). Twice Maria's age is therefore more than 30(2M%26gt;30). Maria's age is more than 15(M%26gt;15).

2) An estimated 70% of the questionaires will be returned, in that case. In that case, the desire return amount of 750 represents 70% of the minimum amount(750%26lt;=70%A) that need to be sent. Divide 750 by 70% or 0.70 to to get the amount.

3) The least(L) a watermelon can weigh (W) is ($4.00/$0.39)pounds. The most(M) it can weigh is ($5.00/$0.39) pounds. Divide total price by unit price to find weight. So the weight must be between those amounts, or L is less than W which is in turn less than M, written as L%26lt;W%26lt;M. Substituting values:

400/39%26lt;W%26lt;500/39.
Reply:Ooops I didn't read the Q right. I guess Gateach was right. I hope I didn't confuse you.

I'll explain all the Qs step by step in case, you still didn't understand it.

1. Let m = Maria's age and let x = Xul's age

x is exactly 2 years older than m,

therefore, =%26gt; x = m + 2

Since x and m are greater than 32

x + m %26gt; 32

but we know that x (Xul's age) is 2 years older than m,

so we can substitute x to be m+2.

x + m %26gt; 32

m+2 + m %26gt; 32

2m +2 %26gt; 32 (we can bring the two m's together in the equation.

Then get rid of the 2 by subtracting on both sides:

2m +2 -2 %26gt; 32 - 2

2m %26gt; 30

Then divide the 2 out to get m (Maria's age) who is 2 years younger than x (Xul's age)

2m/2 %26gt; 30/2

m %26gt; 15

Therefore, ==%26gt; maria must be at least 16 or older because both Maria and Xul's age are over 32. You can check by adding m + x = 15 + 17 = 32. Maria's age, m cannot be 15 because we already stated in the question that their combined ages are over 32.

Q2. You're comparing two fractions in this Q. Let X be the total number of questionnaires.

You know the maximum % has to be 100%.

70% of the questionnaires will be returned since we already know that 30% will not be returned: 100-30 = 70% returned

So it is 70/100. Then you know you need to think of the 750 as equivalent to 70 and the the denominator (bottom fraction) of 750 to be the T.

70/100 = 750/T

See, you're comparing on the numerator (top part of fraction) 70% to 750 and

the denominator (bottom part of fraction) 100% to the T (the total number of Questionnaires).

To find X, you need to isolate it

70/100 = 750/T

Multiply T on both sides to get rid of it on the denominator.

T(70)/100 = (750/T)(T)

70T/100 = 750

Then you need to multiply 100 on both sides to isolate T.

(100) (70T/100) = 750 (100)

70T = 75,000

Then the last step to isolate T is divide by 70 in both sides:

70T/70 = 75,000/70

==%26gt; T = 1071.

There's your answer. You need a total of 1071 Questionnaires. You will find that 70% of 1071

0.70 x1071= 750 which is the number of questionnaires that will be returned.

Q3. Each watermelon costs $0.39 per pound. You need to divide the cost $4.00 by the dollar amount worth of one pound. Then do the same for the cost $5.00.

$4.00 %26lt; W %26lt; $5.00

$4.00/0.39 lb %26lt; X %26lt; $5.00/0.39 lb

10.26 lb%26lt; W %26lt; 12.82 lb

I hope this helps.

How to say these questions in a proffesional way?

while calculating the demand on the city taxi service ,we use a questionnaire to get from it the size of demand and the

Intensity of the demand, we want to know from the person who use the city taxi service some things

1.If use that service.

5.Does he use it when go to airport or back from it?

6.Does he use it just when the tourism agency hires one for in a trip?

7.Does he use it when he stays in a hotel?

If you could change any aspect of the educational system, what would it be?

I'd change the methods of testing.

I'm so tired of such biased results.

Some people are perfectly suited for multiple choice or true and false while others are suited for written response. I think that at the beginning of each year, the teachers should determine the learning style of each student through a survey or questionnaire of sorts. And then set up the students tests according to their learning style.

If you could change any aspect of the educational system, what would it be?
For me...I think there are some kids who are destined for college...and some that aren't. My son is a Sophomore in high school, and he has special needs, but is able to take regular high school classes (he's not that "special")...but there is no way he is destined for college....none. And there are other kids in the same boat....so I would like to see Trade School skills taught at the high school level.

Sure he can take some shop classes, but that's not enough. For instance, it would be better for him if he left high school right now and became an apprentice with a construction company...but he can't...he would literally have to drop out of high school to do it...even though they don't provide what he really needs...which is a skill so he can earn a real living...instead of having to settle for saying "would you like plastic or paper?"

Just like you said about biased testing (don't get me started), students are different...and not all of them learn in the same way or have the same goals in life.
Reply:Students are assessed throughout the entire year and this information is passed on to their next grade...

It would be nice to have the time to assess each student but that would not be reality....

There is private school...but they don't assess each students learning style either....Good luck
Reply:+ I think you have thought deeply on this.

My thought is the we are operating on the wrong premise. Presently we teach to the lowest common denominator and curve grades to match it.

Perhaps we should take a beginning test and an ending test and teach to the highest common denominator and grade based on the amount of improvement over the length of the course. Novel approach?

Most professional test takers know that it is almost impossible to write a longer wrong answer to a multiple choice question than the correct answer, so if the test taker just picks all of the longest answers they are sure to do well.

Try it for yourself (writing a longer wrong answer) It takes much more effort (and people are lazy) so if you don't know the answer on a multiple choice just pick the longest if you don't know the answer and see.

Good luck changing the world. Hope you have better success than I have had.
Reply:Vouchers, baby! Education is no place for a government monopoly. Students also need more options for focusing their education earlier, should they choose to do so.
Reply:Written response. I teach middle school, and I have taught high school. Multiple choice or true and false tests tell me little. I want to know about the thinking process of the student. It is more important than the facts they can spew out. Facts mean nothing if you cannot put them into an organized system of knowledge. I prefer Criteria testing; where students are tested on what they have been taught as opposed to standardized testing where they are judged upon what students in other parts of the country have been taught. The two seldom mesh. All tests are inherently biased in some minuscule ways. There is no perfect system.
Reply:I'm tired of teachers thinking that because they're teachers they're smarter than me, or they know my child's learning potential better than I do.
Reply:LEAP tests: vote to get rid of them!!

In every state that carries LEAP testing--NONE of them show any educational improvements! And I've seen way too many bright students make impressive grades....only to fail the LEAP test.....then ENDURE senselessly the stigma of being "left behind"--something that lasts an innocent child's lifetime.

LEAP testing is far more harmful than it is useful.
Reply:First, get rid of NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. It focuses on the lowest level student while the others are treading water all year waiting for them to catch up.

Give homeschool parents the ability to participate in some thing, such as sports, musical instrument...rather than ALL OR NOTHING. PS should consider it a blessing that so many parents are teaching their own kids and undercrowding classrooms.

Stop paying schools for administering meds (thereby getting teachers to push adhd etc) or find a way to correct the fact that teachers and schools make money off of disabilities in general.
Reply:1. Get rid of incompetent teachers. I am currently battling with an extremely asinine and foolish teacher; it would take 5 essays to describe all the wrongs he has done our class. We are also being taught by 2 teachers who must look at the textbook for reference while teaching, and who give countless tests on subjects we have never learned. Since these teachers are friends with the supervisors, they are never given poor ratings or warnings.

2. Rid ourselves of standardized testing. It does nothing but waste time during the day and aggravates our teachers.
Reply:I'm tired of the testing process and the amount of time and money spent (such as on the benchmark exams). My kids have classes--that's right, an hour each day--where they do nothing but study for the benchmark exams. Aren't the benchmark exams intended to measure the success of the system rather than REPLACE the system? Wouldn't the time be better spent actually teaching the children rather than reviewing what they might be test on?

The accountability that comes with "No child left behind" has educators so afraid of losing their funding that the schools are abandoning their normal curriculum!

Let's return to a more normal testing schedule (every few years, such as 5th, 8th, 12th to measure school success and put the responsibility for learning back where it belongs--with the students).
Reply:I am a student and let me tell you the only thing questionaire's are is boring and tedious. They give u like a packet with 100 some questions for us to fill out. I'd definitely change the general outlook of schools. It seems all we students are our test numbers. The only thing public schools want their students to do is get a good grade on a standardized test so the state dont get on their backs. They dont care how we do in the future. If they really wanted to educate us maybe they'd figure out a more hands on cirriculum so that we as students dont get so bored of the same verbal lectures and teaching day in and day out for 100 something days
Reply:The one thing I would change is how the money is spent in the educational system. Most of the money does not go to provide that many items for students. I taught in the public schools and I remember saying to myself I cant believe they let hte walls and the floors of this place look like this and I even had a leak in my room for half the year. Despite this, staff continued to have expensive workship luncheons, expensive cups to drink coffee out of, and not to mention new bathrooms and lounge.

Your statement addresses assessments and as an instructor I go through the same things at the college level. I can give an all essay exam and students complain. I can mix it up and students still complain. I now mostly do a mixture of essay and a project, so those students who prefer hands on can get the hands on, and those who prefer answering questions can get to answer questions.
Reply:So...when are you running for President of the Public School system?
Reply:College tuition. Just about every year, my alma mater raises its tuition and fees, not because it needs the money, but because it has to remain "competitive" with the other schools that have raised theirs. (And every year, those other schools look at what my alma mater has done, and raise theirs... they don't need more money either). The "tuition space race" has become increasingly stupid, and the colleges should just cut it out.
