I have done this now and then but sometimes wonder if I'm being overly harsh. Under what circumstances would you give a professor the lowest possible ratings?
Have you ever slammed a professor on an end-of-the semester questionnaire/teaching evaluation?
If the professor does a poor job then you should be honest on the evaluation. I have had some professors that are terrible and some that are great. Don't worry about overly harsh just be honest because they should improve their teaching skills.
Reply:I politely did it last semester for my college algebra teacher.
She never came prepared, it seemed like she didnt know the material.
Countless times she told us her masters classes or tests were more important than grading our papers/worrying about our class.
If she didnt care, she shouldnt have been teaching our class and just focused on her studies.
