What sort of questions should i put in my geographical questionnaire on...?

I'm assigned by my department to ascertain whether there is a correlation between the Sphere of Influence (how far it is able to reach out to) of a golf center to its Order of Goods/Services (quality and availability of services and goods).

Could anyone whos done surveys before help me? Its my first time.

The sphere of influence of a service is how far people will travel to make use of that service. A primary school, which is a low order service, will have a smaller sphere of influence than a secondary school which is a middle order service. People are willing to travel a long distance to get to a high order service (e.g. Harrods shop in London) and it therefore has a very large sphere of influence.

Settlements as a whole can also be said to have a sphere of influence.

How far away is the importance or influence of any one place felt? Pupils can plot places covered using a variety of data, eg pupils coming to school, where pupils go on holiday, local radio coverage, advertisements, telephone directories. These can all be linked to topics already being studied, such as the local area or an urban environment. What overlap occurs? Why do different activities have different spheres of influence?
