Do most people prefer to use and own dishwarhsers?

Do all people use dishwashers or is washing up by hand still the way lots of people do the dishes?

It would be a great help if people could fill in my questionnaire and give there opionons on household daily tasks

Do most people prefer to use and own dishwarhsers?
We built a new house and included a dishwasher. Other than 2 months while I was waiting for a replacement pump it gets used almost daily. Only dishes too large to fit inside are done by hand.
Reply:prefer to do mine by hand.
Reply:I prefer to do it by hand. I then can see that the job has been done properly.
Reply:washing by hand is still the best. i do have a dish washer called the hubby
Reply:hell yea
Reply:I think most people prefer a dishwasher these days, I prefer to clean up after everymeal, and while I am cooking, just makes it easier. However , recently, my husband and I both had a nasty illness, and we kept passing it back and forth until we both took antibiotics, and I used the dishwasher to sterilize everything we touched. It seems to have done the trick, I think we are rid of that nasty staph infection now.
Reply:after waiting eons to get it - IF my beloved dishwasher broke down I would go totally bonkers. I really LURVE that little ol machine - no task is too tough for it - even my burnt pans come back all shiny shiny.

Its such a huge love of my life that I do not have a little bottle of fairy in the cupboard for those little odd washing up jbs as I do not feel the need to starve my beloved machine of just the one little coffe cup or spoon - I just pack it all in and opo the block in

- job done why do my friends recoil in horror when their offers to wash up thiose few cups are met with my smile and Nooo sorry

dont have any Fairy Liquid????????

A DISHWASHER IS A LIBERATING PIECE OF KITCHEN KIT

MY TIME CAN NOW BE SPENT MORE WISELY

IMPROVING MY MIND.... watching the Simpsons and sipping wine !
Reply:I prefer a dishwasher and think most people do.

Beyond it's ease...a dishwasher heats the water to extreme temperatures...far hotter than a person's hand could stand or far hotter than what would come out of your faucet...which sterilizes the dishes.
Reply:Personally, I prefer the dishwasher. There are occasions though that I still have to do some large baking casseroles by hand, and of course the stoneware. Overall, I would have to say the dishwasher is the way to go if I had a choice!
Reply:I use the dishwasher at least 90% of the time and only handwash larger items like casserole dishes etc or if the instructions say do not place in dishwasher. It is a great time saver and also probably works out cheaper if you have a lot of dishes etc to wash ideal for families wouldn't be without mine
Reply:I don't think that I could manage without one.
Reply:filled out your form, and no I do not have a dishwasher, I am weird I find washing up therapeutic.
Reply:Of course people prefer dishwashers, throw all the dirty crockery in, slam it shut, press the button and, hey presto, they're all clean. Anything beats standing at the sink wearing rubber gloves and scrubbing ground-in stains until your wrist breaks. I have better things to do with my time.
Reply:I've completed the online questionaire.

I do use my dishwasher and wouldn't be without one but still find sometimes I have to wash pans in the sink.
Reply:Dishwashers are the safest way to wash your dishes! Because of the heat. I use a dishwasher always to clean and sanitize my dishes, glasses and silverware.
Reply:I do both
Reply:I lived for 38 years never having owned a dishwasher. As a child, and the oldest of 5 kids, I can remember standing at the sink for hours doing dishes. I hate dishes!

Last year, I sacrificed cupboard space for my first dishwasher, borrowing the tone of Scarlett O'Hara, "I will never do dishes again".

Love my dishwasher, love it, love it. It now ranks in my life with high speed internet access, I can't go back and I won't!
Reply:dish washers carn't live without mine!
Reply:I still do it the old way by hand
Reply:Ok I've done the survey........think it may be a little ...well(against the rules) of this forum. took me probably a few seconds.....hey! no skin off my nose Luck!

GET THE DISHWASHER!!!!
Reply:DISHWASHING THEROPY:

A friend's dad was left alone in a country house, so the dad moved in with his son's family. He was moody at the start, until he did the dishes one evening.

Since then, he would see it as his role to wash the dishes after every meal.

The wife liked the assistance and offered to help her father-in-law one time. He insisted to continue by himself. When she grabbed a tea towel and wet plate, he explained ...

"When I lived in the country, all was quiet. This house is noisy with TV's, Nintendos, traffic outside ... but when I am doing the dishes, I have time to myself - so please let me do it alone !"
Reply:Dishwasher most assuredly. Had it both ways, will never go back!
Reply:no...manual labor is the bomb...is this a serious question?
Reply:I wanted a dishwasher for 15 years, hubby finally gave in 2years ago, I now use the dishwasher most every day, wouldn't be without it. I have filled in your survey.
Reply:I couldn't live without mine - washes the pots and pans with very hot water - you couldnt achieve this by hand. Stack the dishes, close the door and relax.
Reply:Whoever came up with the automatic dishwasher is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I HAVE ONLY JUST GOT A DISHWASHER, BUT WOULDNT BE WITHOUT IT NOW.
Reply:We are well off middleclass with large new home and a lakefront vacation home, but my wife never wanted a dishwasher. She never had one and never wanted one.
