Will an expunged juvenile misdemeanor show up on an employment background check?

When filling out a questionnaire for an employment background check, do I still have to check "yes" for having been charged with a juvenile misdemeanor even though it is expunged???

Will an expunged juvenile misdemeanor show up on an employment background check?
Dear Lola:

No. If a record was expunged, it means that you where never "convicted" of the crime. Please understand, however, that if you apply to any police or federal agency, they will have access to this record. All other companies and agencies do not have access to any expunged or sealed records.

Therefore, you need to mark "no" for regular applications, unless you are applying for a position in law enforcement, except security guard.
Reply:No. Juvanile records are sealed anyway. So a back ground check should not pull them up.

However, once you are an adult, anything you do is open record and can be used against you when applying for a job.

People need to think about that before they decide to screw up.
