3 Do you know what a corset is? Yes, I have extensively studied fashion history and understand the history of the corset from ancient to modern times.


4 Do you know anyone who wears a corset? First, in our modern era there are many types of corsets; the three main types being: the inner corselet that forms an integral part of evening wear, especially strapless and bridal dresses. I have made many of these for my customers as they aid in the shape and structure of the garment. Next is the fun and funky corset -from sexy lingerie to dressy bustiers, which I have seen on many women, and a few men. Then there is the traditional undergarment: the body deforming corsets, the ones that crack ribs and re-arrange to internal organs. I know one woman who damaged her kidneys from a tight body re-shaping corset. She wore an old victorian style corset almost all the time, thinking it made her sexy and shapely, She had it removed in hospital it when she began having health issues, and it turned out her kidneys were pushed under her rib cage, and a rib had poked into one.


5 6 Do you wear corsets? Why? Not traditional undergarment corsets, I would never ever mutilate my body. I only wear the fun and fashionable ones that are flexible enough to allow me free and easy movement. Most of the ones I make for myself I don't bother with even plastic bones and I make them from shiny stretch satins. I occasionally wear boned and lined evening dresses, again I make the corselet with stretchy material for comfort.


7 Would you consider wearing a corset? I would never ever consider wearing the body molding, tight boned, busked, constricting, rigid, body deforming, organ destroying, rib cracking, old fashioned corsets that were thankfully abandoned by most women in the early part of the 20th century. I hope that tight corset fad dies a quick death and never returns. No woman should torture herself or damage her health to that level as done by old style corsets for the sake of fashion. besides, my day is too active and hectic for me to bind myself rigidly in an old style corset. Imagine trying to ice skate in a corset! Or jog! Or even sit to drive a car for a few hours! It would be impossible! I'd rather be healhy and active.

6 Why do you wear corsets? (Give as many reasons as you want) I love the silhouette and shape that they give. I find them very sexy; and I feel very sexy when wearing one. I don't tight lace but love the hugging feeling that a real corset gives when you are laced in firmly.

3. Yes, I am a moderate tight-lacer. A real corset is a heavy duty garment with steel bones and steel busk, with lacing to pull your waist tighter. it is designed to reshape your body.


If it comes from Victoria Secret it is not a corset!!!
