What specific questions can i put in my research questions about gender issues in the classroom?

I want to determine if gender plays a significant role in how students choose their major field of study in college? What particular questions should I put in my questionnaire to determine that?

What specific questions can i put in my research questions about gender issues in the classroom?
gender (important for obvious reasons)

age (This is important because having people in different age

groups may impact data.)

major (imporant to know if major is one which tends to be

selected more by one gender or the other)

how was major chosen

who, if anyone, influenced the choice of major (This one is applicable because if a daughter was influenced by her mother or a son by his father, than gender may have had an impact.)
Reply:Age

Sex/gender

major

parents jobs

students current job

where they hope to study (not all courses are available at every uni)

hobbies (hobby may lead to major ie cheerleading to dancing/arts)

people who have influenced their lives (male/female)

have they won a scholarship if so what in

any close relatives that have/doing the major that they have chosen

i think the most important question though is what subjects did they like at school and where good at (this is usually a large influence on the subject that they major in)
