I recieved a questionnaire from a college coach,but i have no interest in the school?

what do i do? ive read that its rude to not send it back and that it makes you look bad. but i really would never go to this school. what do i do?

Reply:I'm sure it's standard letter that goes out to all athletes. Those that are interested will take the time to answer, those that aren't interested won't bother like you. Don't sweat it. I'm sure hundreds went out. If you don't answer, it's no big deal.
Reply:Well if your absolutely positive that your not gunna go to the school i think its ok not to respond to it. Its not rude because people cant be forced to reply to stuff. Dont worry about it and just live your life as you were. A lot of people recieve questionnares and dont respond im sure the college coach is perfectly used to it. The fact that you care about this enough to ask on yahoo answeres is a enough of a deed. Nice question!
Reply:I would answer it and send it back. Never say never because if all else went wrong you may end up going to that school and you may want the option. Always keep all of your options open until you have to commit.
Reply:No problem. Send the coach a letter thanking him/her for being interested in you, and say that you have decided to go to another school. Just be pleasant and straightforward.

1. Leverage- you can tell the coach at a school you desire attending the lost of schools that are recruiting you


2. Backup- what if your other options simply disappear? You don't have the luxury of ignoring any recruiting opportunities until you have SIGNED WITH A SCHOOL.


3. Practice- It gets you in the habit of being organized, having a system of dealing with recruiting letters and calls
Reply:Its good practice. Just do it and get it over with. It will help you start thinking about those types of questions so when the survey comes you really want, you will be prepared! ;)
Reply:Lots of schools get a list of prospects from one of the recruiting services. They send a form letter to most of the prospects which they think they might be interested in. If you're not interested, don't respond. If you did not solicit it, it's the equivalent of junk mail.





If you are being recruited by a bunch of D1 schools, and you get these letters from some D3 schools, just dump them. The coaches will know that you are dealing with much bigger schools. I know a kid who was getting some of these letters from a Big Ten school, but he decided to go to the local NAIA school. To each his own. If you don't respond, they will not follow up.
