I recently filed a small claim for £500 to local court - had a letter and not sure what it means?

I filed the case, defendent owing the £500 filed a defence in full stating he does not owe the money. his defence consited of 5 lines saying " i told him it was non refundable deposit and i have had enough of this!"

Since this was submitted, i filled in court questionnaire and added further details to my claim.

Yesterday i hada letter from the court from the judge saying a "Statement of order" to have defence struck off as no real likelyhood of success.

What does this mean, what do i do now and will the defendent know this now. Can he appeal.

I recently filed a small claim for £500 to local court - had a letter and not sure what it means?
it basically means you have no chance of winning the case my advice give up now you aint going to win so stop spending money
Reply:The last two people who have posted seem to have misread your question. You stated that you received an Order which said that the DEFENCE should be struck out. That is great news for you. That means that the Judge thinks that the Defendant's case has no real prospect of success. This means that you should be able to get judgment entered in your favour for £500, if this has not already been done. I would speak to the court office to find out about the correct procedure.

The Defendant will know about the Order as it will be sent to him. He will be able to apply to have it set aside, or he can appeal the Order. He might try to do one of those things whilst you are applying for judgment.

In response to your additional information, what this means is that the Defendant can apply to have the Judge's order set aside, and the usual time limit for doing this is 7 days. That means the case will go for a hearing in the County Court and the Defendant will have to persuade the Judge why the Order should be set aside. He will have a good chance of getting it set aside if he can show that he has a good Defence. He does not need to show that the Judge was wrong to make the Order in the first place, only that it would be in the interests of justice for the Order to be set aside.

If he does not ask for it to be set aside, he has the alternative of appealing against the Order to a Circuit Judge of the County Court. He would be unlikely to win an appeal, because he would have to show that the Order was wrongly made in the first place, and it sounds like that would be difficult for him to do.

Anyway, you do not need to worry about what he may or may not do, you could just apply for your judgment, and you could also ask for your costs, e.g. court fee. If the Defendant does not pay up he will have an unsatisfied County Court Judgment (CCJ) on his record and that will affect his ability to get credit. If he does not pay up you can ask for the judgment to be enforced, and any further costs you incur in doing this can be added to the judgment debt.
Reply:it means he has no money to pay you and your wasting your time and will be a fortune for court fees for the claim to go ahead.
Reply:It would seem that the Judge has looked at the file and considered there is no likleyhood of you getting the judgement.

When you were paying for the goods or services, was there a clause indicating 'no refund'? If so, you have no case if this is a private transaction with another individual. If it is with a Company, the situation is different e.g. Merchantable Quality, Fit for Purpose etc.

The only avenue you have now is a Private Prosecution in the County Court but beware, beacuse if you lose there and this is likley, costs would be awarded to the Defendant, making you well out of pocket.
Reply:No it means that the Court , does not wish to contuine as there is a great chance that the defendent will not pay , in other words forget it you are not getting your money

And it makes you wonder why people think the law works , it does , but for the wrong people
Reply:yes

In Microsoft word, how can I draw a gray line that I can type on?

You know, rather than just emulating a line wtih a bunch of underscoring. I am creating a questionnaire that will be filled out electronically. Thank you.

In Microsoft word, how can I draw a gray line that I can type on?
I'd say create a table.

One cell (no border) for the question. Cell next to it (or underneath) with no border except for the bottom line of the cell. Pick color/line thickness via table properties.

Reply:Go to the View menu, and then Toolbars. A menu of different toolbars you can select should show up, choose "Drawing". Somewhere on your screen the Drawing toolbar should show up. You can use that to create shapes in your Word document, including lines.
Reply:type what you need to type. highlight what you need underlined and click the "u" with an underline on top.
Reply:hold down the shift key and hit the same button --- no shift

Reply:In Microsoft Word you can use the "Tables" feature.

From the Menu bar, choose Table, then Insert, then table.

A Windows Box pops up that allows to you customize the number of row and columns.

Once set Table is set, you can then go to from the menu, Format, Borders and Shading. Here you specify the style of the lines and, as you asked, the color.

Where can I get a hold of the EYSENCK PERSONALITY QUESTIONNAIRE (EPQ) here in the Philippines? Thanks!?

We need of it for our research. We really need it as soon as possible.

Thanks !

You could try a publisher. Obviously, they're going to charge, but depending on rates, it may not be too expensive. I'm providing a link for the current order for, if that helps. It's in PDF format, so you need Acrobat reader. It allows you to order a manual and forms. (For a copy of the manual and one of each of the forms, it's $10.00, for example.) At the very least, if you contact them, they might be able to tell you who you can get it from in your area of the world. They're based in California.

Do I need to know about the defendant's witness?

I am involved in UK small claims proceedings. The defendant turned up at the last hearing with a witness that I knew nothing about because I had not been served with a copy of the allocation questionnaire. Do I have a right to know in advance of the hearing that they have a witness and what the witness is attesting to? I sent my allocation questionnaire to them.

Do I need to know about the defendant's witness?
Yes.

What is the law in Indiana on a parent receiving information???

Are the parent's of a child entitled, by law, to gain any information they require about their child and the environment their child is in (as long as that information doesn't involve another student, b/c it would break the other childs right for privacy)? I had a questionnaire I asked for the teachers and principal to fill out so I can better understand the structure of their school, the environment my child is in, and how my child responds to different situations in that environment. Is it legal for the principal to just decide for the teachers to not give me that information? I read some of the laws, and it sounded like I was entitled to the information I desire to have.... anyone know this one??? =) Thank you!

What is the law in Indiana on a parent receiving information???
the principal has the final decision...i am up in fishers and we had something very similar happen a few years ago...you might have to take this to the school board...however, i am not sure that your efforts will make any difference
Reply:dont give up. sit down with the principal and ask all the queations u want. try the pta also.
Reply:Not sure on this one. I would think that they would be more than willing to give up information on your child's school environment because you will hear from your child what happens and how they're responding. To know this stuff in advance or to know what your chld is not telling you would help both you and the school. Take it to the school board. You're going to find out anyways, why not give it up now before it causes problems?
Reply:I work in fort wayne and you can request and information and long as you are the legal guardian. You can also request for a tour of the school and to sit in on some of your child's classes to better understand what there day is like. If you child receives special service (esl, special ed) you are sup post to get meeting called IEP's to come up in ideas to better suite your child educationally. I hope this helps

I need help with a question and answer book report on Wayside School is Falling Down.?

I have to do a question and answer book report, me being the questionnaire and one of the characters in the book being the answerer using specific details from the book Wayside School is Falling Down.

I need help with a question and answer book report on Wayside School is Falling Down.?
I'm not sure what a "question and answer" book report is. But this should be easy. Think about it: what's odd about Wayside School? How many floors does it have? What floor is missing? What's the name of the teacher on the 30th floor? What's the name of the janitor? Etc.

Is that the kind of thing you have to do?

Can anybody help me about brand awareness?

I would say that there are so many amalgamims that to define just a small number would be tretchery for any student, and cheating for them if you do not fully explain why and how these words sneak into our everyday language, although many of them are too modern to be in the newest dictionaries.

Which research method is best used for eyewitness testimony?

i need to compare 4 groups of data which i gained from a questionnaire based on eyewitness testimony and would like to know what research method is best

anova?

chi square?

Which research method is best used for eyewitness testimony?
Well it would depend on the data was exactly.

If your data was in categories (for example, race) you should use a chi square.

If your data was to with means etc you should use the ANOVA.
Reply:According to the Mythbusters, hypnosis of the eyewitnesses gives the most accurate data.

Questionnaire regarding a convicted rapist?

A man raped a woman sixteen years ago he was sentenced for his crime and the victim got 5000 compensation. The rapist won the lottery (7 million) now the victim wants his money for psychological damage. Should she get some of his windfall or has he served his time already and paid for his actions?

Questionnaire regarding a convicted rapist?
No, he paid his debt..though it's disgustingly little (most women don't get anything, though)

Plus, there is a thing called statute of limitations. I believe it is 7 years and once tried and convicted cannot be tried again.

If she took him to civil court for pain and suffering, she may or may not get anything. Usually statute on the wrong done is only 2 years I think.

Sorry.
Reply:Money is power---%26gt;power is a weapon---%26gt;Felons should not be allowed to have weapons----%26gt; they are not allowed to have a firearm----%26gt; they should not be entrusted with a large sum of money from a lottery win

I wish she would get the whole 7 million. A rapist doesn' t deserve any reward of any kind ....ever.

I think that anyone ever convicted of a violent crime should NEVER be allowed to win a lottery.

Before the government collects the taxes from the lottery win......they should do a criminal check............if a felony pops up............BOOM......no lottery for you......it should roll over to the next jackpot and the world should know why this 'crook' didn't get the money.

They should be publicly humiliated for being a felon in the past all over again.

And yes................she should be compensated 7 million dollars for what that ANIMAL did to her.
Reply:she should get something she is in titled to it as far as I 'm concerned she should have it all and he should still be in jail not out endangering women

I recieved a questionnaire from a college coach, but i have no interest in the school?

what do i do? ive read that its rude to not send it back and that it makes you look bad. but i really would never go to this school. what do i do?

I recieved a questionnaire from a college coach, but i have no interest in the school?
Just ignore it. As if you had never received it. ~
Reply:I'm sure it's standard letter that goes out to all athletes. Those that are interested will take the time to answer, those that aren't interested won't bother like you. Don't sweat it. I'm sure hundreds went out. If you don't answer, it's no big deal.
Reply:Well if your absolutely positive that your not gunna go to the school i think its ok not to respond to it. Its not rude because people cant be forced to reply to stuff. Dont worry about it and just live your life as you were. A lot of people recieve questionnares and dont respond im sure the college coach is perfectly used to it. The fact that you care about this enough to ask on yahoo answeres is a enough of a deed. Nice question!
Reply:I would answer it and send it back. Never say never because if all else went wrong you may end up going to that school and you may want the option. Always keep all of your options open until you have to commit.
Reply:No problem. Send the coach a letter thanking him/her for being interested in you, and say that you have decided to go to another school. Just be pleasant and straightforward.
Reply:Always answer the questionnaire. WHy?

1. Leverage- you can tell the coach at a school you desire attending the lost of schools that are recruiting you

2. Backup- what if your other options simply disappear? You don't have the luxury of ignoring any recruiting opportunities until you have SIGNED WITH A SCHOOL.

3. Practice- It gets you in the habit of being organized, having a system of dealing with recruiting letters and calls
Reply:Its good practice. Just do it and get it over with. It will help you start thinking about those types of questions so when the survey comes you really want, you will be prepared! ;)
Reply:Lots of schools get a list of prospects from one of the recruiting services. They send a form letter to most of the prospects which they think they might be interested in. If you're not interested, don't respond. If you did not solicit it, it's the equivalent of junk mail.

If you are being recruited by a bunch of D1 schools, and you get these letters from some D3 schools, just dump them. The coaches will know that you are dealing with much bigger schools. I know a kid who was getting some of these letters from a Big Ten school, but he decided to go to the local NAIA school. To each his own. If you don't respond, they will not follow up.

In my group children's attribution style questionnaire gave scores from -3 to 8. How should I classify these

from minus 3 to 8, which is the point where I can say that the balance is tilting?

thanks for your time and help

In my group children's attribution style questionnaire gave scores from -3 to 8. How should I classify these
-3 + 8 = 11

11/2 = 5.5

The answer is 5.5

Of course there is Mean Median and Mode to consider.

That's when the average might score 5.5, then some smart guy or not so smart guy raises or lowers the average.
